Lydia and Bridget

Grandma and Grandpa sent a sketchbook and art kit recently.  Almost everyday she makes another drawing or two in her book.  Lydia and her best friend, Bridget appear on nearly every page, holding hands, jumping rope, and in the top drawing, having their pictures taken at school (they're holding rabbits).  The third figure is the photographer and the items on the right are his umbrellas.  What fun to be 4 with a great best friend.

Button Book

She is SO PROUD of this book, which she made with Miss Debbie, her daycare provider.  She carried it everywhere for days.

Oh, Mr. Golden Sun

Huge Pile of Art
2006-2008

She's been on a trip down art memory lane today - and yes, all that art DOES fit into that one box.  The sparkly sun is from last year's school performance where her class sang "Mr. Golden Sun".

Ed note: Loved the glasses on every wise man... I guess wise = glasses!  Also, nice outfits.

Presents

Presents
December, 2007

She asked for 2 pieces of string over Christmas break and later came back with these cute little paper presents.  I did help her fix the bows (per request).  She later put them under the tree.

The Beach

Beach with Flamingos and Turtles

She came home from daycare with this project - it's quite something with many layers of paper and tape.  I particularly like the computer paper legs on the flamingo.

The artist says, "My mom is a total slacker.  No updates for a month!"

Ed. note: It was not my intention to post all these self portraits (and no idea how she learned to work the timer on the camera), but this one had to be shared.  All I can think when I look at this photo is fast forward 15 years, swap Gymboree for scant apparel of some sort, put a beer in her hand... YIKES!
